Document Description
The project is limited to the placement or repositioning of 24 large wood pieces (greater than 18-inches-in-diameter) at 10 restoration sites within a 2,500-foot-long section of Gilliam Creek. The intent of the project is to improve instream rearing habitat for salmonids, particularly juvenile coho salmon, by placing large woody material (LWM) on the bed and banks in positions that will induce the formation of laterial scour pools, provide cover, habitat complexity and velocity refugia. In some locations, LWM will be placed in existing pools to further enhance and provide cover in those pools.
