Document Description
The Project includes the installation of a removable 340-foot, 10-inch diameter PVC irrigation pipeline across the Kern River Flood Channel. The pipe will be installed by hand above ground, across the surface of the channel and removed by hand once irrigation is complete. The pipe will not be used when there is water in the flood channel. The pipe will be installed and removed approximately once a month November through March, and once a week April through October. Two-foot sections of wooden blocks will elevate the pip 7-inches off the ground. A small 9-foot wide, 27-foot long, 16-inch high bridge will be installed by hand and will cover a portion of the irrigation pipe which crosses the levee, to allow vehicular access on the levee road.
