Document Description
GCID proposes to extend the time to complete full beneficial use of the remaining 57,000 acre-feet of water under Permit 21101 by 15 years (from 2011 to 2026). The extension would allow GCID the necessary time to fully establish a water use pattern that meets expected increases to crop water irrigation demand, rice straw decomposition needs, and fish and wildlife enhancement uses to the fullest extent allowed under the permit. No changes are proposed to Permit 21101 authorized diversions, maximum rate of diversion, place of diversion, place of use, or designated beneficial uses (maximum rate of diversions of 1,200 cfs from November 1 through March 31 annually: 32,900 acre-feet diversion maximum per year for crop irrigation, and 150,000 acre-feet diversion maximum per year for rice straw decomposition).
