Proposed amendments to provisions for Automotive Windshield Washer Fluid products contained in the Consumer Products Regulation will redefine and better characterize the definition of Type "A" areas (regions in CA that routinely experience freezing temperatures in winter months) where AWWF product with higher volatile organic compound (VOC) content can be distributed and sold on a voluntary basis. Redefining and expanding Type "A" areas in CA will help reduce the driving hazards associated with the freezing of AWWF products. Additionally, the amendments will allow labeling language to direct consumers to dilute concentrated products to Type "A" areas, regardless of their location, when freezing temperatures are expected.
