Document Description
The CA Maritime Academy is proposing to replace the existing security entrance kiosk and associated improvements with a new building to house campus Police Department functions. The new one-story building would be approximately 3,800 sf in size and a maximum of 16 feet in height. The building would house administrative offices for 10 sworn officers and 7 civilian personnel working on various shifts, 24-hours per day, 7 days per week. Parking for three vehicles (including one ADA-compliant space) would be located east of the building, and five spaces, which would be reserved for use by police service vehicles only, would be located south of the building. A new gate house and electronic entry and exit gates would also be constructed at Maritime Academy Drive. To accommodate proposed site improvements, Maritime Academy Drive would be widened by approximately 1 1/2 feet on the east side of the roadway.
