Document Description
SBSA is proposing to construct and install a replacement 48-inch high density polyethylene (HDPE) sewer force main. The 48-inch (project) section of the force main is located between the Redwood City and San Carlos Pump Stations within the cities of San Carlos and Redwood City. The project is part of the SBSA's overall Capital Improvement Program which replaces and upgrades aging infrastructure, and will ensure the reliable operation of the overall sanitary sewer conveyance system. The new force main is intended to reduce the likelihood of spills and discharge of untreated wastewater to surrounding environments, which has occurred with the existing reinforced concrete pipe sewer force main. The existing 48-inch force main would remain in place but not function as a sewage transmission line.
