Placer County Water Agency (PCWA) owns and operates the Middle Fork American River Hydroelectric Project located in Placer County on the Middle Fork American River, Rubicon River, North Fork Long Canyon Creek, South Fork Long Canyon Creek, and other tributary creeks. As part of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission license for this project, PCWA is conducting the North Fork Long Canyon Diversion Modification Project (North Fork Project) and the South Fork Long Canyon Diversion Modification Project (South Fork Project, jointly Projects). The Projects entail modifying North Fork Long Canyon Diversion Dam and South Fork Long Canyon Diversion Dam to improve instream flows, sediment passage, and fish passage. The Projects are required by the Middle Fork American River Hydroelectric Project FERC license.
