Document Description
In accordance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission license for the Middle Fork American River Project, the Permittee will conduct the following project activities to ensure the downstream movement of sediments and gravels that are otherwise retained in Ralston Afterbay: 1) periodic excavation of up to 101,000 cubic yards of sediment from Ralston Afterbay; 2) sediment augmentation at two (2) sites located downstream of Ralston Afterbay Dam; 3) gravel placement to enhance trout spawning habitat immediately downstream of Ralston Afterbay Dam; and 4) periodic opening of the low-level dam outlet during high-flow events to allow mobilization of accumulated sediment near the outlet.
