Document Description
Installation of LOEDs around each Primary and Auxiliary Offshore Intake Structure (POIS, AOIS, respectively) on the Unit 2 and Unit 3 conduits at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. The LOED will consist of a barrier net around each cooling water intake structure to prevent entry of large marine mammals. Each POIS is a 32-foot diameter, 18-foot high (from the seafloor) reinforced concrete riser that connects tot eh 18-foot 10-inch (outside) diameter intake conduit bringing seawater, used for cooling and waste stream dilution, into SONGS. Each AOIS is constructed of reinforced concrete and measures approx. 5.5 feet.
