Document Description
EMWD proposes to construct and operate a recycled water storage basin to collect data for a period of up to four years. The recycled water to be used would first undergo tertiary treatment. Construction of the proposed project (including grading the basin) would begin in the fall of 2012. Construction would not initially include lining of the basin, so as to determine the magnitude of any leakage (i.e., incidental recharge) and effects to water quality in the area. The project would generate data required to provide an understanding of geotechnical, hydrogeologic, water quality, regulatory, and water system requirements for long-term storage of water within the DVL ERA. The project would require construction facilities associated with seasonal storage in the pond, as well as testing requirements, such as pipelines, water inflow/outflow structures, pump facility, french drains to remove nuisance seepage, drains into the project site to address water produced from french drains and stormwater, stormwater capture/control facilities, electrical power feed, storage/staging area, monitoring wells, lysimeters, and other test facilities.
