Document Description
This Eagle Scout project looks to replace an existing gate within the backcountry of Crystal Cove State Park. The existing wood gate is slumping inward and deteriorating. The replacement gate will be moved up the trail ninety feet to have better continuity with the adjoining fence line trail. Holes for new posts will require dirt removal of up to 4'x3'x16' from a berm. A secondary and tertiary hole will be created up to 5' deep for tie backs on either side or a step over on one side. Concrete will be used to support the posts. The gate will span fourteen feet, matching the existing gate. Ninety feet of barbed wire left over rancher days will also be removed, improving the visual aesthetic of the area.
