Document Description
The proposed project would allow tidal action in existing drainage ditches that are part of the Napa River Unit of the Napa-Sonoma Marshes Wildlife Area. This tidal action would enhance the function and habitiat value, improve water quality, and decrease mosquito abatement issues in the ditches. In order to open the ditches to tidal flushing, a 24-inch diameter culvert and two small breaches would be necessary to connect the ditches. The culvert would connect to the existing intake channel and would be approximately 50 feet in length and made out of high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. This culvert would have a control gate on both ends in order to allow the Department ot manage water flow in and out of the ditches.
