Document Description
Velocity Island Park is a proposed cable wakeboard park within the City's 15-acre Detention Basin (formerly Dubach Park). Cable wakeboarding is a water sport which involves riding a wakeboard over the surface of a body of water while being pulled by an overhead cable system. The cable system is powered by an electric motor. The project would include a 9-acre lake within the project site, on overhead cable system, and park amenities. The project would include floating and stationary docks, a decomposed granite path (4 to 5 feet wide) around the lake perimeter, 75 parking spaces, restrooms (624 sf), operations building (1200 sf), and an observation deck. Proposed hours are 8 a.m. to 30 minutes before dusk, 7 days per week.
