Document Description
Use Permit and Site Development Permit to allow the expansion of the existing emergency department of the Ukiah Valley Medical Center (UVMC), relocation of the permanent heliport, construction and operation of a temporary heliport, and permanent employee parking lot. The Project would expand the existing Ukiah Valley Medical Center (UVMC) hospital by adding 25,000 square feet to the existing emergency department (ED). The expansion would be one-story and located to the west (front) of the existing ED. The Project includes modifying the parking areas, landscaping, emergency generator with enclosure and associated site improvements. The existing ground level heliport located on the lawn in front of the existing ED would be relocated to the southwest corner of the roof of the addition. The heliport would be temporarily relocated to the northeast corner of Hospital Drive and Hamilton Street (APN 002-160-10) to allow emergency medical flight to continue during construction of the addition and relocated heliport. After the ED expansion and heliport have been constructed and the heliport is operational, operation of the temporary heliport would cease and a permanent employee parking with 111 parking spaces and perimeter and interior landscaping would be constructed on the site. The northwest corner of Hospital drive and Hamilton Street (APN 002-160-13) would be used for employee parking and construction staging during construction of the Project.
