Document Description
Note: Review per lead As a result of severe winter storms and heavy rains from 12/17/2010 to 1/4/2011, a slope failure occurred behind homes located at 243, 245, 247, and 249 Via Ballena, resulting in the storm drain pipe being severed from the top of the slope behind homes at 249 and 251 via Ballena. The severed 18-inch corrugated metal pipe storm drain conveyed surface runoff from the street Via Ballena and the rest of the tributary area to a waterway that runs at the base of the slope within the Shorecliffs Golf Course. An emergency pipeline repair has extended a temporary storm drain pipe for the severed portion of the pipeline. The City is proposing to divert the street flow that was conveyed through the severed storm drain to a pipeline to be constructed within public streets, Via Ballena and Via Cascadia, to connect to the existing storm facility on Via Cascadia as shown on enclosed Exhibit B. The project will start at 249 Via Ballena and will include a 1,032 linear feet of 42-inch diameter pipe and 1,430 linear feet of 24-inch diameter pipe to be constructed within public street right-of-way.
