Canal School Road Bridge Replacement Project

The replacement bridge will span Newman Wasteway and will consist of a cast-in-place, reinforced concrete, flat slab bridge. The proposed project will be constructed to meet American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) design requirements; specifically a minimum bridge deck clear width of 40 feet will be used. Bridge design shall be consistent with Load Resistant Factor Design (LRDF). Existing freeboard in the Newman Wasteway will be maintained. The proposed project consists of a three-span reinforced concrete flat slab bridge that will be 152.5 feet long and 42.9 feet wide, with an identical elevation as the existing bridge. The proposed project requires two bent sections within the channel. Each section is supported by six piles.
