Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2019-0120-R5, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Ventura County Watershed Protection District. The Project will widen and rock line the existing earthen trapezoidal channel, both sides and bottom. The existing, primarily earthen, trapezoidal channel will be converted to a wider and deeper trapezoidal channel with 2:1 side slopes. It will increase the channel depth from 4 feet to 6.75 feet, with a base width of 7 feet, and a new average top width of 34 feet. The bottom of the culvert under Highway 118 is about 2.5 feet below the existing channel bottom at the downstream end. A 2-foot-thick riprap layer will be placed on a filter blanket to prevent washout of the sub-grade; the top three feet of the rock slope protection will be concreted to support a safer surface for the widened access road.
