Document Description
The Permittee proposes to increase ground water storage in Ojai Valley Ground Water Basin by diverting surface flows from San Antonio Creek. This consists of a passive intake structure within the creek, rehabilitation of the spreading ground basins (relic ponds), and construction of passive percolation recharge wells adjacent to the creek. The project requires several components to complete the project. These include an intake structure within the creek flow, a pipeline from the intake to the ponds, rehabilitation of the ponds through excavation, new transfer channels between the ponds, a pipe from the lower pond (pond #4) to the recharge wells, four new recharge wells, an overflow channel from the lower pond to the creek, a monitoring well, and road access from Thacher Road with a low flow crossing,. Diversion of flows will be on average about 6 days a year.
