- Document Description
- A native plant harvest and propagation program would be developed to provide planting material and rooted stock for various restoration, erosion control, and habitat enhancement project activities. Willow, cottonwood, and other native species would be harvested from State lands, in the locations described above, and transported directly to project sites or propagated and grown for use on future projects. Harvesting techniques follow best management practices and recognize sustainable harvests of less than 25% from healthy, vigorous plants during the appropriate season. Harvest techniques in meadow environments would be restricted to the use of low impact methods and hand crews. No significant resources such as eligible cultural finds or protected biological species are known to be present in the harvest areas.
