The California Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC), pursuant to authority granted under Chapter 6.8, Section 25123.6 of the Health and Safety Code is considering approval of a Removal Action Workplan (RAW) for volatile organic compounds (VOCs), as submitted on February 24, 2012 by AmeriPride Services Inc. Project activities will commence June 2012 upont DTSC's approval of the RAW, is expected to be completed by December 2013 (approximately 18 months). The purpose of the RAW is to address VOC's in a 60 foot by 70 foot parcel of soil at the Former Welch's Uniform Facility site (Project Site), by implementing a soil vapor extraction (SVE) system. The SVE system was selected as a presumptive measure based on the Additional Site Characterization and Baseline Health Risk Assessment Report (Report), dated March 2010, revised May 2010 by AECOM. The Constituents of Concern (COCs) in soil gas were identified as tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE), and cis-1,2 dichlorethene (DCE). The SZ
