The Bear Yuba Land Trust is requesting $76,315 in funding from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy's Proposition 84 Healthy Forests Grant Program for an approximately 28-acre project involving fuels reduction, removal of invasive vegetation, and limited revegetation in selected areas. Woodpecker Preserve is a heavily forested 28.23-acre parcel of land which acts as a buffer to a densely populated residential neighborhood on Banner Mountain.
