Document Description
The project is limited to the development of an off-stream pond, to be used for vineyard from protection and irrigation. The pond will be filled by an upland well not connected to flows in Grape Creek. The new pond will replace an existing on-stream flashboard dam and direct stream diversion. An excavator will remove the existing pond embankment and relocate the materials to create the new pond. The embankment of the new pond will be adjacent to Grape Creek and will be stabilized with biotechnical methods and replanted with native riparian vegetation. Additional riparian vegetation will be planted within the inundation footprint of the old pond. It is expected that the project will improve instream flow in Grape Creek and benefit downstream fisheries.
