Document Description
Architectural Review Application to remodel the existing building, known as the Alpha Building, located at 210 Broad Street in downtown Nevada City, Nevada County, California. The Alpha Building footprint contains 8,160 square feet. The main component of the project is to add three windows and a new doorway/entrance on the eastern elevation (UnionStreet) and onto Calanan Park, a City-owned park. The application also proposes replacement of all existing windows and doorways on all elevations of the building with matching materials (wood windows on Broad Street, aluminum windows on Union and Commercial Streets). Two existing storefront doors will also be replaced. The property is zoned "GB-HD" General Business and within the Historical District. The property is 0.56 acre in size and is developed with an existing three-story retail building that was constructed in 1917.
