The proposed project is an update to the City of Clovis' Development Code, which is analyzed together in an environmental impact report (EIR) with the City's General Plan Update (EIR certified and General Plan Update approved on August 25, 2014). The Development Code Update (DCU) is intended to consolidate and compile amendments adopted since the 1970s into a reorganized and reformatted document.
It is intended to implement the goals, policies, and actions of the Clovis General Plan Update (GPU) and applicable specific plans by providing standards for orderly growth and development that establish and maintain the community's history and quality characteristics in appropriate locations. The DCU also reflects changes to the General Plan and the revised land use and zoning designations. The update compiles existing information and past code amendments in an easy-to-reference manner, provides a procedure guide, updates land uses to contemporary standards, and proposes limited land use and development standard policy modifications.
