The wastewater treatment plant is designated as a Public Facilities in the City of Taft General Plan and zoned Industrial by teh City's zoning ordinance.
The project would replace the existing headworks, including adding a bar screen to the dump station; rehabilitate two existing lagoons for redundancy; install a new Biolac aeration system for lagoon aeration and improved secondary (biological) treatment; install a new Parshall flume and ultrasonic level meter; install a new electrical feed and blowers; rehabilitate valves and piping; replace the existing electrical distribution system; and replace the existing generator at the existing wastewater treatment plant.
