SDP and City of San Diego Multi-Habitat Planning Area Boundary Line Adjustment to allow for the removal of 0.1 acre of disturbed upland and wetland vegetation on the right upstream abutment area of Chollas Dam. The vegetation removal is being conducted in response to a letter sent to the City of San Diego Public Utilities Department (PUD) from the CA Department of Water Resources detailing the routine maintenance inspection of Chollas Dam. The letter was received on December 16, 2010, and recommended that PUD remove objectionable vegetation from the dam. Since it was determined that vegetation growing on the dam could hinder safety inspections, interfere with safe operation and possibly could lead to dam failure the project is being proposed to clear vegetation on the eastern side of the dam, on the dam abutment, and along a 10-foot buffer from the dam abutment.
