Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2012-0021-R2 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, City of Roseville. The project aims to implement road management practices that will address areas where erosion in occurring whereupon the road system to the harvest site will be improved at project competition. A 52 foot flatcar bridge with steel decking will be constructed across Juniper Creek in the northern portion of Section 31. Pre-cast concrete abutments will be placed outside of the 100-year flood plain to support the bridge. In channel work will consist of stabilizing banks with riprap using local material and removing prior crossing materials (e.g., logs) from the channel. Water drafting will take place at a historic drafting site adjacent to Juniper Creek and just upstream of the proposed flatcar bridge. A shot spur (approximately 65') on fairly level grounds is adjacent to the watercourse. This spur will be rocked with a minimum 3" angular competent rock. In addition, large rock (20"+) will be placed at the end of the rocked spur to delineate drafting and parking location. All harvesting will utilize ground-based equipment (e.g., tractors, skidders, and feller bunchers).
