Document Description
The project will demonstrate how industrial plants/facilities can participate in the traditional DR programs targeted at reducing the peak demand, and emerging DR programs designed to provide fast responding ancillary services to the grid to support large scale integration of renewable generation using the Demand Response Optimization and Management System (DROMS) platform. In doing so, plants/facilities will realize substantial financial gains while providing benefits to California ratepayers through reduced power demand on the electric grid along with associated benefits of reduced infrstructure costs and lowered need for green house gas (GHG) producing peak generation or balancing intermittent renewable generation.
