NOE - Notice of Exemption
The Monarch Grove Management Plan provides guidelines for the maintenance and replacement of trees within this historical wintering site of the monarch butterfly. The grove consists primarily of eucalyptus and several Monterey cypress and Monterey pine. These trees provide roosting and wind protection during the months of November and February. Willows found along the Meadow Creek, border the western and northern boundaries of monarch grove are also included in this management plan. The willows provide a wind buffer/thermal blanket for the monarchs.
