Document Description
This project will build on a previous PIER project (500-09-010, Development of a Design GUI for EnergyPlus) which developed a basic GUI for EnergyPluc, by adding features and functinoality to the GUI, in particular, features for simulating energy use and performance of advanced heating system. It will provide for upgrades, for EnergyIQ. It will investigate water usage in at least 30 California homes utilizing inexpensive wireless temperature and flow sensors to determine energy and water usage patterns and distributions system efficiencies. Information discovered will be used to develop accurate simulation models, and advise future state and Federal standards proposals relating to hot and cold water use, and hot water generation and distributionn through ASHRAE and DOE working groups.
