Document Description
The project would include the Independence Day "Big Bay Boom" fireworks program in Imperial Beach on July 4, 2012. The project would include a fireworks display with an ~20 minute duration. The fireworks would be discharged off the Imperial Beach pier, starting at 9pm and concluding at 9:20 pm. Construction of on-land support facilities is not needed and no admission fee would be charged; however, the pier would be closed all day for preparation of the discharge site. Best Management Practices (BMPs) are proposed to minimize impacts from the fireworks display. The Applicant must obtain and comply with all Federal, State and Local permits. Based on staff analysis, the project is not expected to cause any permanent effects on the environment.
