Document Description
There are two components of the project that require funding; 1) purchase of existing wastewater conveyance and treatment capacity from the City of Lincoln and 2) construction of a pump station at the SMD 1 WWTP, conveyance pipeline from pump station of City of Lincoln trunk sewer upgrades to City of Lincoln WWTRF unit processes that are not oversized, and an effluent discharge pipeline from City of Lincoln WWTRF to property surrounding the facility. The City of Lincoln constructed extra capacity for the regional project in components where it made financial sense to take advantage of economies of scale, such as the collection system pipelines and certain components at the WWTRF. The unit processes that will be upgraded during construction are as follows: Influent pump station, head works, oxidation ditches and anoxic basins, secondary clarifier, return activated sludge pump station, scum pump station, waste activated sludge metering station, filter feed pump station, filter facilities, and chemical facilities.
