Document Description
The Woodbridge Irrigation District owns License # 8215 to divert 18.25 cubic feet per second from Beaver Slough for the irrigation of a 3,386.62-acre area near Thornton, CA. The District diverts the water with a pump in Beaver Slough near the easterly end of Beaver Slough, approximately 1 mile east of I-5 and 4 miles east of the Slough's confluence with the South Fork Mokelumne River. At the existing point of diversion at the eastern end of Beaver Slough, the pumping of water is impaired by the gradually increasing accumulation of trash which accumulates and blocks the flow of water through the District's trash rack at its point of diversion, which requires constant cleaning. The District has filed a petition with the SWRCB to change the point of diversion from Beaver Slough by moving it west (downstream) approximately 6,400 feet to a new pump station on the north side of Beaver Slough, where hydraulic conditions in the Slough are better suited for the avoidance of trash and debris accumulation, and to install a fish screen at the new point of diversion and to interconnect the new point of diversion with a pipeline delivering the water to the District's existing ditch system serving the Licensed place of use The new point of diversion would be in the SE 1/4 of Section 9, T 4 N, R 5 E, MDB&M, as shown on the map attached hereto.
