Document Description
Utility infrastructure upgrade to accommodate a larger electrical and cooling demand for three existing data center buildings on the project site. The on-site utility improvements include installation of cooling towers, a water chiller, water pipes and pumps for building cooling in the existing central chiller plant, backup generators in two locations, and electrical switchgear and transformers adjacent to each building. A total of 15 new 3-MW generators are proposed throughout the site to provide back-up power to the data center uses when equipment failure or other conditions result in an interruption to the electrical power provided by Silicon Valley Power via the on-site dedicated substation. Diesel fuel for the generators will be stored in 6,000 gallon above-ground tanks under each generator.
