Document Description
Three potential alternatives are under consideration for the former Parker Center (former headquarters for the City of Los Angeles Police Department, now vacant and closed): (1) rehabilitate existing building; (2) partially demolish, rehabilitate and add to the existing building; and (3) demolish the existing building and build a new building. Under each alternative City Department offices, parking facilities, a cafeteria, and commercial space would be provided. An optional inter-building bridge or tunnel that would connect City Hall East to the rehabilitated Civic Building is also being considered. The new or improved facility would support the City's sustainability initiatives by rehabilitating or constructing a building that meets the City's Green Building Code.
