Document Description
CDFG is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (SAA #1600-2012-0100-R6) pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, the Imperial County Department of Public Works, represented by Mr. William Brunet, 155 South 11th Street, City of El Centro, State of California, 92243, Phone (760) 482-4462. The Applicant is proposing to implement the final closure of the Brawley Solid Waste Site (BSWS). This project includes waste relocation along the north slope and western areas of the landfill, construction of a 16-foot wide perimeter road, construction of a final monolithic cover including an erosion protection layer over the entire landfill, installation of surface water drainage control systems, installation of a landfill gas monitoring system, installation of a ground water monitoring system, stabilization of the banks of the New River and revegetation of mitigation areas. The project is designed to perform final closure of the BSWS and stabilize the adjacent bank of the New River to prevent erosion of the New River stream bank from impacting the decommissioned BSWS. A total of 0.36 acres of permanent impacts to jurisdictional streambed will result from the construction activities, and a total of 0.17 acres of temporary impacts to jurisdictional streambed will result from the construction activities.
