Document Description
The project is limited to the alteration of Placerita and Heil Creeks, located within the Golden Oak Ranch. Bank stabilization activities will improve the existing vertical slopes and prevent future erosion along this reach of Placerita and Heil Creeks. The project will consist of repairs to damaged portions of the banks and will result in the construction of 2:1 slopes. The project includes the placement of ungrouted boulders in areas that receive high flows, in order to provide slope protection from future bank erosion. Proposed stone sizes vary along the creek based on fluctuations in velocity, however the majority of the stone sizes range from 2-5 feet diameter. Above the boulder placement, the remaining portions of the slope shall be planted with native vegetation to provide additional slope protection and stabilization as well as provide stable riparian habitat for wildlife.
