This project, to be carried out by the Koreatown Youth and Community Center, involves planting 250 trees in various locations of South and Central Los Angeles. It is anticipated that this project will commence in April of 2012, and be completed by March 2014. Trees will be native and non-native oramentals that have been selected for their disease resistance, adaptation to the urban landscape, shade capacity, and minimal litter production. Trees will be planted using 15 gallon commercial stock. All trees will be planted, staked and tied, watered and maintained in accordance with CAL Fire guidelines.
