Document Description
Approximately 44 trees/branches will be removed in Spring/Summer 2012. Trees will be surveyed for active nests by a State Environmental Scientist immediately prior to hazard abatement. If an active nest is found on an identified hazardous tree or branch, that tree will be avoided until after the nest is no longer active.
Trees may be trimmed/removed using chain saws, a truck-mounted bucket, and a chipper to mulch and leave onsite. The BLF will use the mulch throughout the trail and adjacent areas. They will be low-cutting for removed trees. They most likely grind down some or most of the stumps eventually.
