Document Description
DWR proposes to replace the existing pedestrian bridges over three drainage ditches that drain into the Thermalito Power Canal. The three bridges will be placed in the same footprint as the existing bridges. This will involve demolition/dismantling of existing wood bridges and concrete abutments. A backhoe will be used on excreting and excavating the concrete abutments. The new bridges will be placed in the existing footprints and new concrete will be poured. A P&H crane and carnetruck will be used to set the prefabricated bridges in place and a cement truck will be used to place the new concrete. Slurry (a mix of concrete and rock) will be placed along the walls of the abutments in the embankments to avoid undermining during high drainage flows.
