Document Description
The Project is located in the Pajaro Watershed which spans 150 square miles through Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito and Santa Clara counties. The Pajaro Watershed is listed on the section 303)d_ of the 1972 Federal Clean Water Act as having impaired water bodies due to high levels of nitrate, sediment, pathogens, mercury and fecal coliform. The goal of this Project is to enhance water quailty by improving efficiency of crop irrigation systems and nutrient applications. The RCDSCC will collaborate with growers and partners in the Pajaro Watershed to implement a maximum of thirteen (13) Best Management Practices.
