Document Description
The purpose of the project is to continue the ongoing restoration of wild trout spawning habitiat in Prosser Creek below Prosser Creek Dam and in the Little Truckee River below Stampede Dam. Construction of the dams led to the interruption of alluvial transport in both watercourses; natural replenishment of these materials no longer occurs. The sections of the watercourses immediately below the dams are now largely devoid of appropriately-sized gravel for fish spawning. The artificial introduction of spawning gravels is intended to enhance spawning habitat and eliminate further erosion and degradation to the Prosser Creek and Little Truckee River streambeds.
