Document Description
Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has issued an emergency permit to California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDFFP) to treat hazardous waste by burning. The hazardous waste to be treated consists of up to 75,000 punds of fireworks (DOT Hazard Class 1.4). The items are seized by the CDFFP during multiple seizure actions and are illegal for sale in California. The emergency permit is effective from April 2, 2012 through June 30, 2012. Treatment will be scheduled depending on weather, logistics, and availablilty of personnel. The treatment activities will be conducted by qualified personnel from DFFP, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Bomb Squad, and/or other local emergency response agencies.
