Document Description
The City of Lincoln is proposing to upgrade a narrow 1-mile stretch of Nicolaus Road. The existing road is approximately 22 feet wide and will be widened by 32 feet from the intersection of Aviation Boulevard and Nelson Lane to Airport Road as part of the Project. The upgraded road will have two 12-foot lanes and one 4-foot shoulder/bike lane in each direction with a center median between the existing lanes and the new lanes. The City will pursue construction and at the same time work to preserve existing heritage oaks. The intent of the Project is to construct the westbound lanes north of the existing two-lane roadway. After completion of construction of the new roadway, both directions of traffic would be moved over to the new lanes. The existing deteriorated two lanes would then be reconstructed when funding is available.
