Document Description
El Monte City School District proposes to remove 16 portable classrooms in the northwest area of the site to construct a two-story building with 21 classrooms totaling 46,283 s.f. A 2,700 s.f. shade structure would be constructed in the courtyard to provide shade for outdoor lunch tables. Phase 2 includes the demolition of a one-story 3,259 s.f. kindergarten (Building A) and one-story 14,359 s.f. administration/multipurpose building (Building E). A new Building A will be constructed for a kindergarten and administrative office space totaling 8,896 s.f. Building E includes a multipurpose room and library and totals 18,682 s.f. Buildings A and E are one story and total 27,578 s.f. compared to 17,618 s.f. for the two existing buildings.
