Document Description
Eastern Municipal Water District intends to construct and operate a Biodiesel Feedstock Production Facility within its Perris Valley Regional Water Reclamation Facility (PVRWRF). The BFPF would process restaurant waste collected from within EMWD's service area. The facility would recover brown grease and produce a brown grease waste product that would be suitable to serve as a feedstock for biodiesel production. The brown grease waste product would be transported to an existing regional biodiesel production plant to be refined and then brought back to EMWD facilities where it would be used to supply EMWD diesel-powered vehicles and stationary engines. Upon completion, the BFPF will keep approximately 5,000,000 to 10,000,000 gallons per year of waste out of landfills and produce diesel fuel that would be utilized in EMWD diesel-powered vehicles and stationary engines.
