Document Description
The objectives of the proposed project are to (1) secure the Dietz Garage site and (2) maintain the site in a manner that prevents the structure from becoming an attractive nuisance. The Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency (Successor Agency) has acquired the subject property. The Successor Agency does not currently have reuse plans for the site. As such, after acquiring the site, the Successor Agency intends to simply secure and maintain the site indefinitely. Securing and maintaining the site would involve securing the site/building to restrict trespassing, occasional site inspections by City personnel, and occasional physical maintenance activities as needed to prevent the site/structure from becoming dilapidated. The City does not have immediate or definite plans to demolish the Dietz Garage structure. Rather, demolition would only be pursued if it becomes unreasonable or infeasible to adequately secure and prevent the structure from becoming an economic hardship per the City of Ontario's Historic Preservation Ordinance.
