The project proposes amendments to the City's General Plan Land Use Element and the City's Zoning Ordinance in order to incorporate recommendations from Project SHAPE (Support Historic Apportionment Photo-Realistic Efforts) which proposes to revitalize the downtown commercial area. Project SHAPE serves as the roadmap and business plan to generate the interest of developers to invest in the downtown area. The proposed amendments provide provisions to enhance and transform the downtown commercial area into a beautiful, pedestrian friendly area which focuses on preserving the historic architectural character and restoring the prosperity and vitality of the downtown area.
