The Redlands Passenger Rail Project is an approx. nine mile corridor extending east from the City of San Bernardino to the City of Redlands and includes local and express train service. SBCTA certified a Final EIR for the project in March of 2015. The Final EIR considered constructing a double track ready alignment throughout the railroad corridor, turning Metrolink train at the University of the Redlands, and plausible constructing staging areas SBCTA is proposing to optimize the track alignment for a single track configuration, turning Metrolink trains in downtown Redlands, and additional construction staging areas to facilitate constructability.
