Document Description
The project consists of shifting the Runway Safety Areas for Runway 11L/29R through the application of FAA-established declared distances and by adding 312 feet of runway to the west end. The additional length will have no effect on capacity for the airport. To properly interface with existing airport facilities, two stub taxiways will be constructed, an existing taxiway (Taxiway C12) will be reconstructed, and an aircraft holding apron will be created at the west end of Taxiway C. Certain runway lighting systems will also be relocated. Because the addition of 312 feet of runway to the west involves a minor shift of the adopted noise contours and safety compatibility zones for the airport, as identified in the City's CLUP, a plan amendment is also required.
